1. Accurately reads, understands and follows building plans
2. Installs structures and fixtures, such as stairs, doors, barn doors, mantels, interior shelving, built-ins, windows, partitions, custom closets and cabinetry, molding, trim and interior finish packages, as well as, wood, metal and fiber cement siding
3. Safely utilizes tools and machinery to chisel, plane, saw, drill, sand, etcetera, to repair and erect structures
4. Accurately uses levels, rules, squares, and laser assisted instruments
5. Installs deck framing and finish decking
6. Moves and installs machinery
7. Instructs and assists apprentice carpenters and general laborers
8. Safely drives company vehicles, as needed
9. Occasionally communicates with the client and to the Project Manager
10. Conducts supply runs

1. Proactively verifies the accuracy of work throughout the process to ensure codes and specifications are met
2. Assesses the need for and occasionally installs knee braces, interior pick-up framing and floor coverings
3. Safely uses ladders and scaffolding and works at varying heights above ground level

1. Previous working experience as a carpenter for at least two years with demonstrated general knowledge and use of carpentry materials and techniques in the area of residential construction
2. Knowledge of safe operation and maintenance of a variety of personal hand tools and power tools
3. Strong attention to detail and ability to use level and square precisely
4. Basic math skills
5. Aggressive problem-solving skills
6. Knowledge of First-Aid
7. Strong communication skills
8. Time-management skills and ability to prioritize
9. Ability to read and follow blueprints and technical drawings
10. At least 18 years of age
11. Completed carpentry apprenticeship, preferred
12. Legal, valid, unrestricted driver’s license, with no DUIs in the past 3 years or multiple infractions

1. Subject to changing, and sometimes extreme, environmental conditions both indoors and outdoors, including wet and/or humid conditions
2. Subject to moving mechanical parts, high and precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, occasional toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and risk of vibration
3. Stand, walk and occasionally sit
4. Use hands to finger, handle, or feel
5. Reach with hands and arms
6. Climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
7. Talk or hear, in an environment that is usually loud
8. Occasionally lift and/or move up to approximately 100 pounds
