Join the POST Engineers! This position is responsible for painting work and related tasks using a variety of paints, stains, varnishes, fillers, and tools to maintain, repair, and upgrade agency facilities. The position also works with other staff in performing general building maintenance tasks and snow removal. Must have demonstrated ability to work and engage in diverse working environments. This position may be part of a collective bargaining unit. Requires *knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in painting, including knowledge of the kinds, characteristics, and uses of paint, stain, varnish, caulk, and fillers for interior and exterior applications to wood, metal, masonry, and wallboard; related painting chemicals and cleaning products; and the use and care of painting tools and equipment; carpentry and building maintenance practices and processes. Requires skill in use of computers and desktop software; reading and interpreting blue prints, plans, and sketches; interpreting manufacturers’ instructions and schematics; and the ability to look up and interpret items from a code book, technical instructions, or manufacturer data. *Education and experience: Training and experience equivalent to completion of a painting apprenticeship AND two years experience in general building maintenance and painting.
