Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Developer Team Lead to work closely with our Business Analyst/Project Manager and oversee an agile team of developers and quality assurance testers supporting our Neurodiverse Solutions program. The Senior Developer Team Lead will provide training, guidance, mentoring, support, and supervision to the team, fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment. This position requires a unique blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of data analytics. This position will be Full-Time and Remote .
Due to our end client and project work, this role does not offer visa sponsorship.
What You’ll Do
Design data models and PowerBI dashboards based on the client’s data product
Develop new features within the clients existing PowerBI and SQL frameworks
Support the BA/PM in gathering requirements and other pre-development work as needed
Participate as a senior level development resource by contributing to improving development processes
Coach and mentor developers and testers in PowerBI development and testing according to clients’ standards
Aid team members with troubleshooting and debugging SQL and PowerBI
Maintain an associate skill assessment and talent development program for each team member
Establish and maintain a regular cadence with client leadership at all levels and associates, obtaining and providing bi-directional feedback
Act as initial escalation point of contact on associate issues, and advocate for team members with client
Analyze existing data and perform data gap analysis with the goal of improving metrics
Ensure that work tasks are delivered on time, within SLA and to the expectations of IT sponsors and business stakeholders
Answers team member questions, helps with team member problems, and oversees team member work for quality and guideline compliance
Provide encouragement to team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training or skill checks
What You'll Need
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
At least 5 years of software development experience
At least 3 years of PowerBI development experience
At least 3 years of experience developing SQL queries
Experience with analytics and data modeling
3 years’ experience managing direct reports, including delegation of tasks, performance appraisal/yearly reviews, and corrective action
Experience interviewing candidates and providing feedback to hiring managers
Experience leading the training, guidance, and performance management of new and existing team members
Experience organizing, and executing training and development plans, and communicating progress and managing expectations across all levels of leadership
Experience managing multiple priorities, analyze technical problems and synthesize thoughtful solutions
Ability to navigate complex and difficult situations with tact
Relationship building skills to solidify and retain current business and identify/communicate opportunities for business development
Preferred:
Experience with PowerBI bookmarks and custom visual development using the SDK
User-based UI design experience
Physical Demands
Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards.
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard and monitor
