If so, you may be interested in learning that the Department of Labor and Industry and the Business and Education Bureau is looking for an individual that can provide leadership and strategic and organizational planning for the Registered Apprenticeship Program. Also working to promote traditional, non-traditional and new apprenticeable occupations in demand-driven industries and sectors of Montana’s economy. As the State Director of Registered Apprenticeship, you will be responsible for: * Management and leadership of the Registered Apprenticeship (RA) program staff. * Coordination and integration of RA activities statewide with other workforce and training programs, including policy and process development for program alignment. * Representation of the RA program at state and national conferences and meetings. * Development and delivery of presentations to a wide array of audiences across the state. * Increasing awareness of the RA and youth apprenticeship to internal and external customers. * Managing the program budget, seeking out and applying for additional revenue sources and managing successful grant projects/budgets. If you are the right person for this opportunity, you will have the following knowledge, skills or abilities: Knowledge of: * Current social and labor market conditions in the state. * Principles of state and federal apprenticeship and training administration. * Policy development. * Pertinent social and labor legislation and workforce development regulations and policies. * Personnel management supervision principles and best practices. Skills in: * Being influential and persuasive. * Building trust and credibility in work relationships. * Acting as a change agent. * Being perceptive and insightful. * Facilitation and negotiation. * Program development and expansion. * Employee supervision. Ability to: * Apply laws, rules and procedures to complex procedural assignments. * Analyze, interpret and apply complex policies, data and results. * Establish effective working relationships with customers and co-workers. * Effectively communicate orally and in writing. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The essential duties of this position are typically acquired through the following combinations of relevant education and experience: * Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. * Two years of directly related experience in progressive positions that demonstrate skills in analysis and solution of complex problems. Or * Six years of directly related experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered on a case-by-case basis.
