Williams Plumbing / Civil Construction HVAC Lead Installer - Missoula in Missoula, Montana

Williams Plumbing (https://willplumb.com/) in Missoula is looking for an experienced HVAC technician with a strong background in refrigeration and controls in supporting our new construction team. This position will work with a variety of HVAC systems in commercial new construction, warranty, remodels, and retrofits. It requires well-rounded installation abilities in HVAC equipment, refrigeration, controls, and light ductwork.

What You'll Do:

  • Install a wide range of HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, and ventilation units, in commercial settings.

  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to determine equipment specifications and installation requirements.

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to plan and execute HVAC installations effectively.

  • Assemble and connect components such as compressors, motors, ducts, pipes, and communication wiring in accordance with design specifications and local/state building codes.

  • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment for potential issues, and make necessary adjustments or repairs during the installation process.

  • Test HVAC systems to ensure proper functionality, including temperature and humidity control, air distribution, and overall performance.

  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client questions and concerns, explaining system operations, and offering maintenance recommendations.

  • Maintain accurate daily records of installed equipment, work performed, and materials used for each project.

  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure work environment for yourself, fellow team members, and clients.

  • Stay up to date with industry advancements, technological innovations, and building codes related to HVAC systems and installations.

    What You Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of HVAC trade school or apprenticeship program preferred.

  • Proven experience as an HVAC Installer, with a demonstrated ability to handle commercial or residential projects.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents, blueprints, and schematics.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills related to HVAC systems and components.

  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools necessary for HVAC installation.

  • Working knowledge of local and state building codes, regulations, and safety standards.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues during installations.

  • Effective communication skills to interact with team members, clients, and project stakeholders.

  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy equipment and materials.

  • Ability to work in various weather conditions, heights, and in confined spaces.

  • EPA Universal certification for handling refrigerants is required.

  • NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certification is a plus.

  • OSHA10 certification is required.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
